Profile
Boniface Mutatina is an Epidemiologist as well as Monitoring and Evaluation expert. He holds a Master of Science in Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics, and Bachelor of Science in Human Nutrition. Boniface has been instrumental in the development of the Uganda Clearinghouse for Health Policy and Systems. He is currently a PhD Research Fellow (Epidemiology and Health Policy) at Makerere University College of Health Sciences. Between January 2014 and April 2014, he attended McMaster’s Health Policy PhD program. He works for Integrated Community Based initiatives (ICOBI) as M&E Specialist and has previously worked for Injury Control Center - Uganda (ICCU), Child Health Development Centre – Makerere University and other organizations. Boniface has experience in health research, Monitoring and Evaluation of health related programs for over 7 years. He is a co-investigator at Africa Centre for Systematic Reviews and Knowledge Translation - Makerere University College of health Sciences that aims at building capacity in evidence synthesis and knowledge translation of health systems research in Uganda and East Africa. He has over 5 years provided technical assistance in statistical analysis to PhD and Masters student at Makerere University School of Medicine. While at Injury Control Center- Uganda (2010-2011), he coordinated and implemented Geographical Information System (GIS) - based Injury Surveillance System in 14 referral hospitals that aimed providing real time data for injury prevention in Uganda.
